Effective surveillance doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Understanding the difference between traditional IR (Infrared) and modern Color Night Vision is essential for choosing the right camera for low-light environments.

Infrared cameras use IR LEDs to illuminate the scene, resulting in clear black-and-white images. While excellent for complete darkness, they lack the ability to capture important details like the color of a vehicle or a person's clothing.

Full-color night vision cameras, such as Uniarch's Rainbow series, use ultra-sensitive sensors and large apertures to capture natural light. When combined with subtle supplemental warm light, they produce vivid color images even in near-total darkness.

Capturing color at night provides significantly better forensic evidence. Being able to describe a suspect's red jacket or a blue car can make the difference in a police investigation. PrimoTech offers a wide range of low-light solutions for every application.
